The 6th book in C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia is The Magician's Nephew. This book follows the adventures of Polly and Diggory as they deal with Diggory's dastardly Uncle Andrew and the evil Queen of Charn, travel between worlds, and witness the birth of Narnia.
As a child, I thought The Magician's Nephew was one of the best books in the series, and from glancing at Amazon.com, I think a lot of other people had the same opinion. As an adult, it loses a little of its wonder. It feels like Lewis wrote this book to answer questions from readers about, "How did Narnia begin? Why do they care about Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve? Why is that lamppost there?" etc. etc. But do these questions really need to be answered? I kind of like the wonder of not knowing.
This story is Narnia's Genesis. It's still a good read, but I wouldn't rate it as one of my favorites anymore.
