I think that C.S. Lewis really starts to get into the adventure groove with The Silver Chair. This book returns to previous stories' one narrative line, but everything is much more descriptive, even the fight scenes. The personal character struggles are a bit more mature, but there is also more admonition (by Aslan) for the characters' negative traits.
Not my favorite story, but still pretty good. I'd probably like it better if they let Jill do more - after all, it is pretty much her story! But she's a girl, so no fighting for her.
