After I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, I was left with a void to fill. So I went to the library and checked out several books. Of course, I read the picture book first. Woohoo, less words! Reminds me of writing junior high book reports, finding the book with the biggest text and least pages....
Anyhoo, so I read another graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi called Embroideries. Embroideries is not a story about knitting. It's an afternoon of tea with some Iranian women, doing what women often do together, which is talk about sex.
The book is funny and far more frank than I expected. It didn't have the same impact that Persepolis had, but it was a good day's read. I recommend it if you like Marjane Satrapi or if you have a way to borrow it; it's kind of enjoyable fluff, like a beach read.
