I kind of like Christopher Moore against my will. His books have outlandish plots and heaps of vulgarity. They are also usually wildly amusing.
I just read Bloodsucking Fiends, which came out in 1994 but was available at the library. Yay, libraries! The book is about a vampire and her boyfriend and the conflict with the vampire who made her. It's funny and silly and I read it pretty quickly (3 days I think). I had already read You Suck which is the sequel to Bloodsucking Fiends, and now I think I may have to read it again, so that I go, "oooooh!" instead of "huh?" when it's obviously referring to the 1st book.
I have liked almost all of Christopher Moore's books that I've read, so would recommend any of them, except his Christmas book. That was too much to take. Mind you, I've only read 1/2 to 3/4 of what he's written, because he's pretty prolific. His best book in my opinion, that I totally think you should go buy/check out right now because it's hilarious, is Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, which is about the years of Jesus' life not covered by the gospels.
P.S. You can find my review of You Suck here, where I said the exact same thing about recommending Lamb.
