I finally finished my top secret craft project, and since I sent it off to its intended recipients, I can now post about it!

This is a baby blanket for my friends who are expecting their second child. They aren't finding out the sex in advance, so I tried to pick a pattern that was unisex.

This was my first time crocheting with squares - you make a bunch of individual squares and then stitch them all together. I discovered that I really hate working with squares. I keep seeing the cutest patterns that I'd like to make for our baby blanket, but then it hits me... oh no, not squares. Not again.

Actually, I may try again with squares someday. Every new project is a learning opportunity, right? And I do love making blankets for friends and family babies. :)
