Books Tasted - Everything bookly (and a few other things)

About Me

I'm just one person in a vast world of readers who happens to have the technology* to have her own book review site, instead of adding to the gazillion reviews already on Amazon, etc. My only qualifications are a love of reading, a loving sister-in-law who pesters me to post, and an English BA. Sometimes I get bored of just posting book reviews and post projects I'm working on, mostly craft stuff.

* completely thanks to my wonderful husband without whom I'd just use blogspot.

First Etsy purchase

beth — Sun, Jul 20 2008

I can't believe that I hadn't purchased from Etsy.com yet, but today that mistake has been rectified. Sara's dog collar is getting really old and yucky, plus it's a solid blue so everyone always thinks she's a boy. Que lastima!

We just ordered this collar from the Etsy seller GoneDoggie, who happens to also live in North Carolina. Can't wait till it arrives!

Review: On Agate Hill

beth — Fri, Jul 18 2008

I had never read any Lee Smith before, although she appears to be a prolific writer. But after finishing On Agate Hill, I will definitely be picking up more of her books!

Review: Coyote Blue

beth — Tue, Jul 15 2008

Coyote Blue was Christopher Moore's second book. It lacks the polish that his later books had, but it is typical Moore - funny, irreverent, vulgar, gross, and outlandish. It's the story of a man fleeing his Native American roots by hiding his desires behind the changeable personality of an insurance salesman. Meeting the woman of his dreams and a god, he decides he wants to start living a real life.

My 10 Minute Lunch Post

beth — Tue, Jul 8 2008

Often when I get really into a project at work, I forget to eat. Which is crazy, I know, because I looooooove food. Today is one of those days, and I finally remembered to eat at 1:20 pm.

I'm now forcing myself to take a break from work. What better time to post about one of our side project's, UncomfortableSituations.com?

Project: The 8 Year Cross Stitch

beth — Sun, Jun 29 2008

I am not sure how long I've been working on this cross stitch project, but I think it must be at least 8 years, if not longer. I can remember working on it when my sister and I shared an apartment, and that was back in 1999-2000.
